Menkes in the Community
Summer Newsletter 2016
July 12, 2016
In Georgetown, Menkes is sponsoring the fourth annual Halton Hills Bike Challenge in support of the Georgetown Hospital Foundation. In an effort to promote more physical activity in the region, residents of Halton Hills hope to bike over 400,000 km, or the distance from the Earth to the Moon, this summer as a community. Sponsors have pledged an impressive $85,000 in donations to the Georgetown Hospital Foundation, but the money will only go to the Hospital after the community logs 400,000 km.
If you haven’t already, be sure to sign up, either as a family or an individual, and log your cycling distances at www.haltonhillsbikechallenge.ca. Anyone can join and participants can bike anywhere as long as it is outside in the fresh air. Now grab your helmet and bike and start pedaling away!
Menkes is also a proud sponsor of The Brain Project, an initiative of the Baycrest Foundation. The objective is to help raise awareness for brain health & related issues such as dementia and cognitive well-being. The project will be placing large brain sculptures designed by renowned artists all over downtown Toronto starting June 3rd. Two brains will be on display our 25 York and One York office tower properties. For more information on this important initiative and how to get involved, visit www.brainproject.ca.
