A Spotlight on Sugar Wharf

May 5, 2021

It’s hard to believe it’s been over a year since we updated you on the exciting transformation of Sugar Wharf, the waterfront’s largest mixed-use project, and possibly your future home! While the pandemic continues to keep us isolated at home, our busy construction crew has been hard at work.

Things are progressing well. Here’s where we’re at:

Forming activities (aka pouring concrete):

  • The first two towers of the five-tower residential component are progressing well. For the east tower, we’ve poured concrete up to the level 16 floor slab and level 17 has commenced. For the west tower, level 13 is now complete, with level 14 in process.

Window Activities:

  • The ground floor curtain wall is in process, with podium curtain walls on levels 2-4 now complete. A curtain wall is a system that is hung off the concrete that gives the building’s exterior the look of top-to-bottom glass.
  • Podium curtain wall levels 2 to 4 are now complete.
  • The curtain wall for podium level 4 (also known as the amenity floor) is now complete.
  • The installation of the windows for the level 5 (which is also the first residential floor) of the east Tower is well underway and should be finished this week.
  • Level 6 windows are in process. Tower typical floor windows to commence early May.

Check out the progress on Urban Toronto. We’re pleased to share that we are still on track for occupancy in early 2022.
