Menkes helps promote a happier, healthier city

August 19, 2019

Menkes was proud to sponsor Open Streets Toronto this past Sunday, the City’s largest free recreational program that’s open to all.

The event closed Toronto’s streets to vehicular traffic on Bloor from Church Street to Ossington, and Yonge between Bloor and Queen, encouraging attendees to walk, bike, or rollerblade. The route included fun activities for families along the way, such as street games, dance classes, and yoga, helping promote active, healthier lifestyles for Torontonians.

Unlike other festivals throughout the City this summer, there are no parades or sidewalk sales at Open Streets. The event provides support for local businesses, offering a setting where people all ages and backgrounds can gather to support a provision of broader transportation choices. With no outside vendors, attendees of the event could make purchases at businesses along the route.

As one of Toronto’s top builders, with deep roots in the City of Toronto, Menkes was proud to be able to support this wonderful event. We look forward to the next one, which will be held on Sept 15th.
