AEROCENTRE DONATE 1100LBS OF FOOD FOR CITYWIDE FOOD DRIVE

October 17, 2017

MISSISSAUGA, ON (October 17, 2017)—HOOPP Realty Inc. (HOOPP) and Menkes Property Management Services Ltd. (Menkes) proudly thanked the AeroCentre workforce for their contributions to Mayor Bonnie Crombie’s third annual Citywide Food Drive Challenge at a wrap event hosted at the AeroCentre facility Monday afternoon. AeroCentre and its tenant employees successfully raised 1100lbs of food that will be provided to hungry families across the City of Mississauga this holiday season.

AeroCentre and its tenants have participated in the Citywide Food Drive Challenge through the One Bag Challenge, which is hosted by Her Worship Mayor Crombie in partnership with the Mississauga Food Bank, for three years running. Each year presents a new challenge and a new opportunity for AeroCentre to give back to its neighbours across Mississauga, by collecting non-perishable food items to be donated to those in need.

Attendees at Monday’s wrap event, including Noah Gordon, Director of Portfolio Management at Menkes, Jon Douglas, Director of Sustainability at Menkes, and Cindy Woyslaw, General Manager at Menkes, were joined by special guests Mayor Bonnie Crombie and Meghan Nicholls, Director of Marketing and Development at the Mississauga Food Bank, to weigh the food donated and celebrate a successful Citywide Food Drive Challenge for 2017.

"The 2017 Mayor's Citywide Food Drive Challenge has been a tremendous success so far. Through initiatives like the #OneBagChallenge, we have raised much needed food and monetary donations for the Mississauga Food Bank to distribute to hungry families in Mississauga," said Mayor Bonnie Crombie. "Businesses like those at the AeroCentre have been central to this success and we can not thank them enough for their participation in, and support of, this valuable cause. It is important to the City of Mississauga that we continue to work alongside organizations in the AeroCentre, the wider Airport Corporate Centre and across Mississauga to ensure that we continue to foster an open, engaging and inclusive city for all."

AeroCentre is central to the second largest employment centre in Canada, which accounts for 90% of the jobs in the City of Mississauga. The Citywide Food Drive Challenge is one of many causes through which AeroCentre continues to work with the City to ensure both businesses and residents in Mississauga are cared and accounted for.
