Menkes Welcomes Canada Goose to 100 Queens Quay East

May 10, 2022

New state-of-the-art office space for iconic Canadian luxury brand in growing East Bayfront community on Toronto waterfront.

TORONTO – May 10, 2022 – Menkes Developments Ltd. (“Menkes”) in partnership with TD Asset Management Inc. (“TDAM”) and Canada Goose Holdings Inc. (“Canada Goose”) are pleased to announce a new lease for approximately 113,000 square feet of prime office space at 100 Queens Quay East. Canada Goose will occupy four floors within the 25-storey landmark building on Toronto’s waterfront.

The lease represents a considerable vote of confidence in both the Toronto office market and East Bayfront as a destination for top talent across all industries. Now more than ever, companies are looking to return to offices where tenant health and wellbeing are at the forefront - buildings with superior ventilation, natural light, a wide range of amenities, and access to nature. Canada Goose joins other iconic brands that are putting roots down on the waterfront, including the building’s notable tenants LCBO, Richardson Wealth and Toronto Region Board of Trade. The building is now 92% leased, a significant feat following two years of a global pandemic and dismal office market.

“This lease signals the continued flight to quality of leading companies to the best buildings,” said Peter Menkes, President, Commercial/Industrial. “The addition of Canada Goose to the building supports our strategy to attract premier tenants to the waterfront and reflects our positive outlook for the future of modern office space.”

"We are excited to welcome Canada Goose, a marquee organization, to 100 Queens Quay East. Their move is another significant endorsement of the growth story that is 100 Queens Quay East, Sugar Wharf and the broader East Bayfront" said Colin Lynch, Managing Director and Head of Global Real Estate Investments at TDAM.

The office tower features approximately 690,000 square feet of Class “AAA” space. Designed by B+H Architects, the tower was conceived with the objective of achieving the highest standards in environmental sustainability by striving for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (“LEED”) Platinum certification, which is an internationally-accepted rating system that recognizes excellence in the design, construction and operation of green buildings. The building was completed in Q4 2021, and LCBO recently opened its doors to a 25,000 square foot flagship retail store on the ground floor.

100 Queens Quay East is the first phase of Sugar Wharf, Menkes’ vibrant new mixed-use community, which includes office, retail, residential, Toronto’s first vertically integrated school, and a two-acre public park. It will be the largest mixed-use development on the Toronto waterfront, and home to 7,500 residents and approximately 4,000 office workers.

Canada Goose is expected to move into its new home in 2023.
