Menkes Property Management Awarded the BOMA Pinnacle

September 24, 2020

The Company was awarded the prestigious BOMA Pinnacle Award for Innovation by the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) Toronto Chapter.

TORONTO, Sept 24, 2020 - Menkes Developments Ltd. is pleased to share that Menkes Property Management was awarded the prestigious BOMA Pinnacle Award for Innovation by the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) Toronto Chapter.

The BOMA Pinnacle Award for Innovation recognizes and promotes innovation within the Commercial Real Estate industry, whether it be for a program, product or service. Menkes was honoured with the Pinnacle for its Digital Occupant Engagement Program, which provides the Company with a diversified online presence and a new way to engage with its office communities rather than via traditional methods such as email notices and posters. The Company has a reputation for being an industry leader in innovation.

With technology remaining a key contributor of workplace change- particularly during a global pandemic – mobile workforces are no longer an amenity but a crucial tenant demand.

Diverging from the popular approach of landlords creating property-specific mobile apps, Menkes chose an approach that fits seamlessly into people’s everyday lives by integrating into existing social channels. The Program is comprised of multiple platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts targeted specifically for each building in Menkes’ office portfolio: 25 York Street, One York, 4711 Yonge and AeroCentre (an office complex comprised of six buildings).  Building occupants regularly engage with these accounts, and Property Management manages and responds to engagement and feedback from followers. From offering occupants unique and targeted resources that complement their lifestyle within the workplace, to building an inclusive and personalized online community, the Digital Occupant Engagement Program reflects Menkes’ core strategy towards ongoing innovation.

“We are so honoured to receive this award, as Menkes is a company that sees innovation as the driving force of its business,” said Jon Douglas, Portfolio Services & Sustainability. “We’re thrilled with the success of the program and the fact that we have been able to reach our building occupants in a more meaningful way. Each property account engages with its own community and has established itself as a trusted source for topics related to building operations, sustainability, and wellness.”

Menkes hopes the program will continue to empower employees and allow them to feel connected to their workplace communities especially while many continue to work from home.
