MENKES CELERATES 25 YEARS OF CHARITY GOLF CLASSIC
September 18, 2025
Over $2.1 Million Dollars has been raised over the past 25 years in support of various healthcare institutions
Toronto – September 18, 2025 – Menkes Developments Ltd. (Menkes) is proud to have hosted the Company’s 25th annual Charity Golf Classic at Lionhead Golf Club in Mississauga last week. The tournament, attended by family, employees, and sponsors was a tremendous success with over 270 golfers in attendance. Thanks to the generous support of its sponsors and participants, Menkes is pleased to share that over $2.1 Million Dollars has been raised over the past 25 years in support of various healthcare institutions.
“The Golf Charity Classic holds special significance for Menkes, as the tournament was founded in memory of a valued former employee. We are deeply grateful to everyone who helped make the 25th anniversary our most successful event yet,” said Peter Menkes, President of Commercial/Industrial.
Access to healthcare is a passion of the Menkes organization and is one of the largest recipients of its support. Each of the Company’s main principals is committed to volunteering their time to further healthcare in Canada. Steven Menkes, President of Low-Rise Residential, supports the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Alan Menkes, President of High-Rise Residential, serves on the board of the University Health Network (UHN) and Peter Menkes, President of Commercial/Industrial, serves as a trustee of the UHN.
This year, the tournament is pleased to support, as part of Menkes’ continuing pledge, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). JDRF works every day to change the reality of this disease for millions of people, and to prevent anyone else from ever knowing it, by funding research, advocating for government support of research and new therapies, ensuring new therapies come to market and connecting and engaging the type 1 diabetes community.
“Menkes Developments is more than just a city builder. For decades we have found ways to support various organizations within the GTA, from arts and cultural events to important health and wellness initiatives,” said Steven Menkes, President of Low-Rise Residential.
In addition to JDRF, the Company is proud to be supporting the University Health Network and their foundations, which work to transform UHN hospitals - from the creation of new medical and research facilities to the recruitment and retention of the best health care professionals and scientists in the world.
Lastly, Menkes is also pleased to support, for the first time, Youth Assisting Youth – with donations being used to invest in the leaders of tomorrow and transform the lives of at-risk youth and newcomers through the power of mentorship.
“Menkes is honoured to engage in an array of philanthropic endeavours supporting numerous healthcare programs, specifically centered in the communities in which we seek to invest and strengthen for the collective benefit of all,” said Alan Menkes, President of High-Rise Residential.
Menkes is proud of the lasting impact this annual event has made over the past 25 years and is grateful to all sponsors and participants who continue to support its mission. With another successful tournament completed, the Company looks forward to carrying this tradition into the years ahead.
